Agile Delivery [Scrum, Kanban, & Scrumban]
Agile is only a means to an end. The goal should not be “for everyone to use agile.” What is more effective is treating agile approaches as ways to achieve your business goals. We help organizations that are struggling with agile – as well as ones that want to level up or get started.
Process is not a bad word – though to some people it seems to be. For them, it implies bureaucracy and waste. It’s something imposed by others that makes their work harder. Process is simply the steps you take to deliver value to your customers. Improving your agile delivery process (with Scrum, Kanban, or Scrumban) is one important aspect of agile. Every organization, team, and person has processes, even if they are not clear. The challenge is that without transparency you can’t reflect on how you work – and you can’t improve.
Effective organizations understand what value they provide to their customers and how. They make their value streams transparent. They equip their teams to quickly identify when and where work gets stuck. They engage their teams to improve their processes. Doing this sounds straightforward and – as you know – it rarely is.
Our Approach
Every organization we work with is unique… and there are things we see again and again.
Common Problems
- Wasteful workflows
- Projects that take forever
- Silos and handoffs
- Persistent problems
- Frustrated employees
- Unhappy customers
Desired Results
- Consistent and effective processes
- Faster value delivery
- Cross-functional collaboration
- Continuous improvement
- Engaged employees
- Satisfied customers
We work with organizations to change these common problems into their desired results. Some of our clients are just starting on their agile delivery journey and are looking to remove confusion and solve problems. Others are already experiencing some results and want more. We work with them to amplify what is working well.
We believe that improving is about not settling for best. It’s about starting where you are and always getting better. There is no magic formula, other than hard work and persistence, that will solve your delivery problems. We partner with you and your people to do that work together.
How We Help
To improve your ability to deliver value to your customers, we offer a range of training classes and custom workshops. We also provide dedicated coaching for teams and individuals focused on value delivery.
Certified ScrumMaster Training
Learn how the Scrum framework really works, how it connects to agile, and how a ScrumMaster® helps the Scrum team and the organization. This course gets into depth to explore how Scrum works, not just in theory, but in practice! Throughout this course, expect to learn in engaging exercises and simulations as a class and in small groups.
Advanced Certified Scrum Master (A-CSM) – Agile Facilitation
Take your ScrumMaster and Agile Facilitator skills to the next level with Advanced Certified Scrum Master (A-CSM) – Agile Facilitation. Facilitate better dialogue, respond with confidence when you encounter challenges, increase engagement within teams, and unravel what agile scaling really means. Our two-day workshop digs into these topics and many more!
Agile for Teams (with Scrum) Training
Agile for Teams with Scrum is about more than simply learning a checklist of practices. Knowing how the tactical aspects of Scrum works are important and included in this class, but understanding why they are valuable creates more lasting value. You will examine the difference between the agile mindset and just “doing an agile routine,” why it matters if you want results, and the types of situations agile works in and why. You will focus on what Scrum means in practice and what good practices are necessary to succeed. You will have the opportunity to work alongside your peers, teammates, and others in your organization who need to work together to deliver results.
Agile with Kanban Training
Agile with Kanban training covers all aspects of kanban, an agile approach, as well as key aspects of Lean, where kanban is rooted. The course looks at what it means to have an agile-lean business, from vision to continuous improvement. We dig into what it takes to identify where the delivery of value to your customer is slowing down or getting stuck and cover multiple approaches to improving that flow.
Kanban is often used by teams or groups who are working in IT operations, support, and DevOps as well as people who are looking to use agile outside of IT, throughout the organization (e.g. marketing, customer support, sales, HR, manufacturing, etc.).
Agile Accelerator Training Workshops
Teams and organizations are often looking for ways to break through challenges, sharpen their skills, or take things to the next level with agile. Our Accelerator Training Workshops are designed based on these goals. These workshops start with our core Accelerator content, including agile, scrum, kanban, and agile beyond software. Beyond that foundation, we adapt them to meet your situation & needs. Whether you are looking to align, address challenges, build on your experience, or advance and move forward, our Accelerator Training can help.
