Our Agile Lean Organization Advanced Training Programs are designed to focus on key elements of a successful agile lean organization. We work with you to review the Agile Lean Organization Elements for Success (summary is below) and identify the most important areas to focus improvement on.
We know that organizations have great people and ideas, existing knowledge, and success with agile, but are also focused on how to continue improving. This program is designed to help them take the next step(s) forward by building on that knowledge and experience. The workshops in this program are designed to help your people explore the problems and issues they face as well as accelerate the opportunities they have. By reviewing your goals relative to the Agile Lean Organization Elements, we can then help target the impediments to those goals.
We created this problem to help organizations be more successful on their journey to become and continue to thrive as an Agile Lean Organization.
Agile Lean Organization Elements for Success
The Elements for Success are based on the core aspects that influence organizational success. When you are missing one of these are doing many of them poorly, they will influence your overall success – not simply with agile or lean, but overall for the organization.
- Clarity on Purpose, Customers, and Value. We have a clear purpose, know who our customers are, continuously validate the value we provide to them, and explore how change impacts our assumptions so we can adapt.
- Determine and Discover the Work and its Alignment to Purpose and Value. We have a transparent view of all of our work throughout the organization. We are able to make clear and consistent transparent business decisions about what work we choose to prioritize. Prioritized work aligns to our purpose and the value we are deliver. We are balancing delivering existing products with exploring new opportunities.
- Understand and Visualize the Flow of the Work—How do we deliver value? We have visible processes and value streams to deliver our work, including product work for customers as well as internal improvement and change processes. Our value streams are transparent to allow everyone to contribute and engage with others around delivering the work.
- Identify where Work Slows Down or gets Stuck in the Value Stream(s). Our transparency around delivering products allows everyone to engage in identifying where work slows down. Slow downs to the delivery of value are clear and visible throughout the process. Impediments are able to be identified, labeled, and ranked based on the value they are costing the organization.
- Improve the Flow — Investigate and Apply Countermeasures to Impediments. We focus on investigating the impediments and issues we have identified and determine the causes of these issues. We determine options to improve these impediments with countermeasures. We make causes transparent at all levels of the organization, including challenging and uncomfortable issues. We make transparent business decisions around what to improve as well as what we choose to not improve, so everyone is clear on the decision.
- Leading People and Teams with a Focus on Sustainable Success. Our people and teams are the critical element of an agile lean organization. Their ability to raise issues, collaborate together, bring up unpopular challenges, and engage with each other to solve problems and deliver are the backbone of success. Our leadership is foundational to this success by helping, education, engaging, and inspiring people through behavior, not platitudes. Our leadership is shifting beyond simply being experts to create an environment where people and teams can grow and deliver.
