Doing Agile Wrong – How Can You Tell – A Checklist for Testing Yourself!

Monday, September 26, 2022 @ 11:00 am — 12:00pm (MDT)

(This is the full session from Agile 2022). What exactly are the “rules” when it comes to agile or scrum? There are many people out there, including perhaps you, who tells people they are breaking rules. For most of us, we have been told we are break rules as well.

What kind of ‘rules’?  Any of them, such as: no product owner, one person as the product owner and scrum master, one day sprints, two daily standups, using projects or project managers with agile, using velocity as a metric, have a manager on a team, having no wip limit in kanban, and so many more.

Are these allowed? Who makes the rules? Why do people get so mad when you break them? And are you allowed to break them?  Come to this session and get a checklist of 10 questions to help you know when breaking the rules is okay and when its not (and yes, the irony of this is not missed!).

Organizers: Jake Calabrese

Please note: All of our Learning Labs are interactive sessions using Zoom and Miro. They are not just us talking to a slideshow. We invite all participants to collaborate on a virtual whiteboard (Miro) and engage in conversations with us and each other. While you are welcome to join in audio-only mode, it will be a challenge to participate, and you may not get much out of the session. Because these sessions are interactive, we do not record them. If you are not familiar with Miro, you can learn more at academy.miro.com.
