Mistakes Are Made: Agile Throughout the Organization (Beyond IT)
Monday, November 7, 2022 @ 1:00 pm — 2:00pm (MST)
People are using agile throughout the organization. They have been for a long time. Agile has not been “only software” or “only IT” for a long time. Arguably (by me) if you go back to lean, maybe never. While people have been using it for years there is still a ton of confusion around how to do it well and what might have to change. For people who have been doing it, they are often unsure if they are doing it well. Ironically, many of the same issues people who are using it in software have. Mistakes are made all the time when attempting to use agile throughout the organization, and while we love mistakes! We also know there are some we can avoid or even realize are not really mistakes after all! This session will cover a revised version of the agile manifesto (not official), what agile is really about, and a few core aspects of agile (scrum or kanban) in practice and how they may be even more challenging outside of software (certainly not impossible).
Please note: All of our Learning Labs are interactive sessions using Zoom and Miro. They are not just us talking to a slideshow. We invite all participants to collaborate on a virtual whiteboard (Miro) and engage in conversations with us and each other. While you are welcome to join in audio-only mode, it will be a challenge to participate, and you may not get much out of the session. Because these sessions are interactive, we do not record them. If you are not familiar with Miro, you can learn more at academy.miro.com.
