Psychological S.A.F.E.T.Y. – Key Factors for Self-Improvement (and Care) (Part 2)
Friday, August 18, 2023 @ 12:00 pm — 1:00pm (MDT)
What is psychological safety and why can it be a key factor for caring for yourself and improving? We will review the S.A.F.E.T.Y. model and look at how these social factors might limit your ability to improve, help others, or for them to help themselves. Learn why and how the brain processes things like fairness and autonomy and how depending on personal needs in each area, these may impede your progress! We will review some core elements that we know, science wise, which are critical to increasing psychological safety. Warning, one will be sleep – sorry – you do have to sleep! We will also look at a number of very simple ways you can improve how your brain reacts to events you find triggering over time. Note: this session stands alone and relates to teams working well together, however this session also connects as a component of the Well Beyond Self-Care: Pragmatic Self-Improvement Series.
Please note: All of our Learning Labs are interactive sessions using Zoom and Miro. They are not just us talking to a slideshow. We invite all participants to collaborate on a virtual whiteboard (Miro) and engage in conversations with us and each other. While you are welcome to join in audio-only mode, it will be a challenge to participate, and you may not get much out of the session. Because these sessions are interactive, we do not record them. If you are not familiar with Miro, you can learn more at academy.miro.com.
